Plow under, start over

Hosea 10: 12
12 Sow for yourselves righteousness,
reap the fruit of unfailing love,
and break up your unplowed ground;
for it is time to seek the LORD,
until he comes
and showers righteousness on you.

This Spring I had BIG plans to plant tomatoes, cucumbers and maybe even a few running beans in a little square beside my studio. I had someone that could help me until grass cutting season began and I was excited about the possibility. I was still having problems with my leg, knee, hip, and tailbone pain so I knew I had to work carefully. Brent came by and offered the suggestion that I brick the walk around the square like I had done the lower square in front of the studio. I agreed it would look better so we ordered bricks. Well, the bricks are still sitting waiting to by laid, the tomatoes, cucumbers and beans didn't get planted and I'm now growing a nice crop of tall weeds instead.

It's so true that what we sow we will reap. Sometimes we sow and the harvest is immediate and other times the harvest takes years to mature. There is never a harvest without a time of sowing.

There is also a time that you just need to plow under and start over what you have sown. God's grace is like that. He gives us a second chance to sow the right kind of seeds when before we sowed seeds that caused us harm.

Today I'm asking God to help me plow under some seeds and allow me to start over. Forgiveness feels good. Next week when I step on the scales at Weight Watchers I'll reap the harvest of good seeds firmly planted. Terri just called and said Carley Ann doesn't feel well and needs to stay with me for a little bit this morning. Looks like MeMamma is back in business. :) I'll need to be really careful not to eat all the food she leaves on her plate. That’s a big challenge for me, especially when the food is so yummy. Well, that's my excuse for this past weeks weight gain and I'm sticking to it. :)

I love the painting, but I love ALL your paintings and thank you for sharing! sometimes life needs to be plowed under so a new life can start over, I use to think of weeds as a lost person trying to find their way home back to their family, dont ask me how or where I come up woth these ideas I just do, my mind just goes a mile a minute when I'm alone, scary thought sometimes =), I love you
and hope your grandaughter starts feeling better soon, she's too cute to be sick!! Hug's always
