What I've learned

Philippians 4:4

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.


Today I am 61. :) I'd like to share with you some of the things I've learned through the voice of Maya Angelou.

"I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow."

"I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights."

"I've learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life."

"I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as "making a life."

"I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance."

"I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back."

"I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision."

"I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one."

"I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back."

"I've learned that I still have a lot to learn."

"I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."

I TRULEY LOVE the list of thing's from Maya and all them can make a person stop and think about things and all are so true. Good thing's to reread through out the day.

Happy Birthday Phyllis...I hope it has been a joyous day for you, spent doing the things you love. If I would have known, I would have baked a cake in honor of you!
Thanks for being one of our dear sweet blogging friends...do you believe that people's paths cross for a reason?

I love this Maya Angelou quote...I have read it before also, but it's always nice to be reminded of all the things she shares...I love rainy days, lost luggage is a disappointment, but life goes on, and tangled Christmas tree lights make me slow down and enjoy the moment, especially if there is holiday music playing...unless they are REALLY, REALLY tangled then I just go buy new ones....patience is not always my strong point!

Oh, and Joni, I love rainy days, and have patience that rivals Job. I don't know about lost luggage since I've never lost any, but suspect there would be tears involved.
