Titus 3: 1-3 KJV
1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.
I accepted Jesus as my saviour as a child, so I have no recollection of being any of the sinful things that Paul talks about in verse three of Titus 3. However, as a growing Christian, I have certainly experienced sinful days, weeks and years that I am completely ashamed of. Again, all I can say is that I am glad I serve a forgiving God who loves me and though I remember my sins, He doesn't and greets me each day with new opportunities to experience His love.
I’m participating in a tag from Joni listing eight things most folks don’t know about me, so here goes…
1. I love to watch the classic movie channel or rent the movies made in the 30’s -50's. I like the plots and the actors but more than that I love, love, love to see the interiors of the homes, see the architecture, how the homes are decorated, see what art work is on the walls, what clothes they are wearing… and love, love, love the shoes!
2. I have never been able to pass up a brownie, but I don’t care for pecan pie or eat ice cream. Go figure?
3. I sometimes rock Cocoapuff like a baby and talk to her like she understands.
4. My favorite color to wear is pink. I wear mostly black pants and colorful tops with jackets.
5. My favorite candy is Maple Nut Goodies.
6. In 1988 I had a very expensive professional hair and makeup make over and went from jet-black hair to blonde. I looked like a movie star and I have kept the blond hair ever since.
7. I have at least 6 different sizes of clothes I could choose from if I went to the right closet. I keep thinking I’ll lose weight and get back to a size 10.
8. I can lay a brick walkway and designed my garden walk. My 10th grade geometry teacher, Ms. Stevens, would be so proud of me.
The last pictures are photos of the garden walkwalk under construction. In the last photo you can see the garden house before I had it closed in so I could use it as my art studio. Thank God you can use your right brain to figure geometric problems out. Otherwise I'd be up the creek!

oh phyllis.....i would love to be able to give you a great big hug right now....and then sit for a long visit over coffee! you had me crying and then laughing out loud....what a sweetheart of a person you are.....and multiplication tables? not really as important as how versed you are on the Bible...and how you can expound on that.
thank you for sharing....you truly are an amazing lady....not so sure i would be so understanding in some similar situations....that is where God comes in, i am sure!
your mother and things she says remind me sooooo much of where my dad is in life right now.....about speaking your mind and not holding your tongue....i wonder sometimes where my very perceptive father went....i really think he is still that perceptive.....just thinks it's not necessary now.

Phyllis, I would first like to say thank you for trusting this little circle of friends with what undoubtedly made you feel somewhat vulnerable and exposed. I'm wondering if it felt good to see these things in writing?
secondly, my heart aches to think of some of the trials you have been through, some of which I can relate to...(more on this later).
I had to smile at numbers 2 and 4 from the first list and then I was amazed at the walkway you created from the second list and of course I got fairly excited about the Maple Nut Goodies, because I love those! I had to laugh about the love for architecture in the classic movies...I'm always pointing stuff out that is impertinent to the movie and my family tells me "you're the only one that would notice that"...well, now I have an ally.
I too have clothes of ALL sizes and I think during my spring break I am going to part with them. I have been a size 12 for too long to ever think I will get back into the many size 8's that I have...and oh well, if I do, I'll just have to buy new ones :)
I could keep talking here with you for hours, but I'm afraid I need to go get ready for school :(
The lingering impression and feelings that I am left with about all that was shared is that you are a beautiful and amazing woman Phyllis. My heart is overjoyed at the friendships that can develop here in this little blogosphere and you have blessed me immeasurably, I thank you for that...for being real and genuine. Yes, sharing some of these things was very difficult. I want you all to know that I laugh as much as I cry. It's a normal balance of life as we know it and it is by the grace of God that we all figure out how to cope with all that life give us.
I'm taking a few days off the blogosphere to take care of a few of real life things.
Be well friends and remember that God loves us all and wants the best for all of us.
Phyllis, I loved # 4, I chuggled at it, that would be something my mom would do as well, then all the other's I wanted to cry, got teary eyed, God has diffentley put you in this man's life for a reason and just keep praying, I so love you...kisses Annette
