Lightbulb moment

40 Then Jesus said, "Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?" John 11:40

In my Bible study class last night we were talking about the glory of God and Jenny, our leader, asked us to give a definition of glory. I don't think I had ever thought about what glory actually meant until last night. Think about it. Glory must be something we just can't comprehend, better than anything we can think about.

Before we see the glory of God we have to believe. It's in the daily walk, our daily trust in God, that we begin to really see Him and His glory. Each day we take that walk our faith grows stronger. Each day we take that walk we understand more, love more and can give more. That is why it is hard for those that don't believe to understand how important building a personal relationship with Jesus is. Once a persons believes they are able to see the glory of God. Until they believe the glory of God is hidden from them. Understanding this helps us better relate to those that don't believe in Jesus. They can't see God as we do. It's only when they take those first steps to believing that His glory is revealed. I'm picturing a man or woman walking toward a light they see in the distance. The closer they get the brighter and more awesome it becomes. Maybe that's why folks say they have a light-bulb moment when they begin to understand something. They finally see the light. :)
